10. Hints and tricks

It is possible to generate an index by including an empty <index/> tag at the point in your document where you wish it to appear. Be warned that, as of early 2004, this facility is still somewhat primitive. It won't merge ranges, and the output generated for PostScript is not yet production-quality.
